SMYTH, Deirdre (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Shankill, Co. Dublin) March 12th., 2022 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Much loved mother of Oisín, Aisling and Conal. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, mother Ann, brothers Peadar and Eamon, sisters Mary, Úna and Sarah-Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Tuesday evening (March 15th.) between 6 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning (March 16th.) to St Patrick’s Church, Esker, Lucan arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium.

I only just heard of Deirdre’s passing. I knew Deirdre from school in the 1980’s. She was such a warm genuine lovely girl who I remember was a brilliant Irish speaker and musician. Very sad to hear of her untimely passing. May she rest in peace xx
