Ken, how deeply shocked and saddened we all were at the news of your passing. You will always be in my bank of warm childhood memories. I recall the clan-gathering, family occasions at Nana and Grandad’s ‘prefab’ on Sunday afternoons – climbing on the garage, hunting ants nests and fighting over Nana’s incomparable ‘roasties’. After my dad’s death, Nana took us to Ireland where you looked after us and introduced me to the joys of Drimnagh! I remember, too, with great gratitude, how you supported Bill during the last months of his life. How glad I am that I was able to meet up with you and Ellen at Peggy’s funeral last month. You were your warm, funny, engaging self and had us, as usual, enthralled with your family tales. Rest in peace, Ken, and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
