KEATING, Derek (Lucan, Co. Dublin, formerly of Ballyfermot and former T.D. and South Dublin County Councillor) May 6th, 2023, peacefully, surrounded by his family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Ryevale Nursing Home, Leixlip. Treasured husband of Anne, much loved father of Niamh and Sinead and brother of Clare, Martina, Seamus, Debora and the late Rebecca.
Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren, Niamh’s partner Maxine, son-in-law Joseph, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Removal to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Ballyfermot on Wednesday morning (10th May) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Esker Lawn Cemetery, Lucan. House strictly private please.

Anne and family: sincere condolences. We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Derek, R.I.P. Our hearts go out to you all at this difficult time. We wish you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love in your time of sorrow. It has been a difficult journey for you these past two years. Derek was an exemplary public representative who cared deeply about his community and his constituents. His humanity and decency were always foremost in even the most difficult circumstances. He was always a pleasure to deal with as everything he did was based on what was best for his community. With Derek it was always about the ‘We’ rather than the ‘Me’. Rest easy Derek.
